Coming Together - Reaching Out - In Christ

 

The Adult Ministries at Christ Presbyterian Church provide opportunities for study, fellowship, and spiritual development. Below is a listing of the groups that meet regularly. For information about special classes and events, you may go to the News and Events page or contact the Church Office at (704) 392-2116 or by e-mail.

Sunday Church School Classes

Sunday Church School classes meet every Sunday morning at 9:45, year-round. We currently offer the following classes for adults:

Calvin Fellowship is a class of adults who prefer a traditional lecture style of lesson and study format. It meets on the 2nd floor of the Education Building, the last room on the left, at the end of the hall.

Forum is an adult class that participates in Bible study and discusses Christian social concerns and challenging spiritual and personal topics. It meets at the stage end of the Fellowship Hall (not far from the coffee and doughnuts). Currently, the group is using The Wired Word, a Bible-based look at events making the news. The Wired Word materials are delivered to class participants by e-mail each Thursday, so that participants may consider the topic ahead of time. Fellowship Groups

Most fellowship groups meet regularly from September through June.

Above and Beyond: Hearing God's Call in Jonah and Ruth Bible Study CoverPresbyterian Women has monthly gatherings for fellowship and programs. Circles meet in the morning or during the evening on the first Tuesday of each month for Bible study and fellowship.

Membership in Presbyterian Women is open to all women. The group intentionally seeks the membership of women inclusive of all ages, races, ethnicities, and geographical locations so that it may reflect the rich diversity of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Presbyterian Men has monthly gatherings for fellowship and programs. The Mission of Presbyterian Men is to lead men into a vital relationship with Christ and to assist them in their spiritual, personal, and community development.

Times of retreat & relaxation.The objectives of Presbyterian Men are

  • to enable men to understand their identity in Christ

  • to deepen the spiritual life of men through Christian fellowship which finds expression in mission

  • to cultivate participation in programs and projects enabling men to serve Christ in their congregations and communities

  • to develop effective leadership skills which men can use to fulfill their ministries where they are

  • to equip men to meet the mission needs and social challenges of a world in need of reconciliation

Presbyterian Men meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday each month for Bible study and fellowship. Membership in Presbyterian Men is open to all men. The group intentionally seeks the membership of men inclusive of all ages, races, ethnicities, and geographical locations so that it may reflect the rich diversity of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
