Select all of the following areas in which you would like to volunteer:

 Camp Greene Neighbors Supper - Help prepare supper the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

 Camp Greene Pathways Project - Attend and participate in the monthly meetings of the Camp Greene Neighborhood Association, which meets at Christ Presbyterian Church the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

 Charlotte Has Heart - Pick up and sort food. (once a year, during February)

 Crisis Assistance Ministry - Help with office work, sort clothes, or serve as a counselor. (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly)

 Easter Egg Hunt & Picnic - Supervise children during a morning of games, crafts, and treats, with an outdoor hunt for Easter eggs (Saturday before Easter)

 Habitat for Humanity - Help construct a house or provide meals to workers.

 Halloween Pumpkin Painting - Help children decorate pumpkins and enjoy Halloween treats (last Saturday in October)

 Loaves and Fishes - Stock shelves or distribute food to clients. (monthly)

 Love, Inc. - Assist with one-time crisis needs.

 Upper Room at the Urban Ministry Center - Plan and present a devotional. (once a year)

  Urban Ministry Center - Serve a three hour shift at the receptionist desk. (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly)

 Valentine Cookie Bake - Help children decorate cookie boxes and cookies (last Saturday before February 14)

For Our Nation and the World

Select all of the following areas in which you would like to volunteer:

 CROP Walk - Assist with the walk, sponsor a walker, or obtain sponsors and be a walker.

  Missionary Correspondence and Awareness - Promote congregational awareness of international missions and encourage correspondence with our missionaries.

  Operation Christmas Child - Provide shoe boxes filled with presents for children overseas, or help sort and pack the shoe boxes at Charlotte's Operation Christmas Child warehouse. (once a year, in October and November)

  Special Offerings - Assist with 5-’-a-Meal and/or one of four other special offerings the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) holds during the year.

Select all of the following areas in which you would like to volunteer:

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION:

  Church Librarian/Assistant – Help organize and maintain Christ Presbyterian Church’s library. A love of books and a good sense of organization are the primary qualifications for this position.

  Nursery Caregiver – Caregivers are needed for infants and toddlers during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service and during special services and events throughout the year.

  Sunday Church School Teacher - Teachers are needed for preschoolers, elementary age children, middle school students, senior high students, and adults. Training and curriculum are provided. Some teachers work in rotating teams to allow time to attend adult Sunday School. Sunday School hours are on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45.

  Church School Assistant - Check the classrooms regularly to be sure they have the appropriate supplies and restock as needed.

  Vacation Bible School - Plan, teach, or provide support for this important week of Christian Education for children during the summer. Curriculum and guidance are provided. Special talents such as cooking, sewing, and storytelling are especially needed. All ages are welcome. Time commitment varies from one-time tasks to working throughout the entire program.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE AND FELLOWSHIP:

   Christ-Care - Help families with one-time crisis needs. Volunteers perform such services as providing food, childcare, or transportation to doctor visits.

   Christ Clarion - Help print, fold, and prepare the newsletter for mailing.

   Concerns & Celebrations - Telephone members who are unable to attend and let them know what Concerns & Celebrations were shared during that week's worship service.

  Congregational Retreat - Help plan and assist during our annual congregational retreat to Bethelwoods.

   Congregational Breakfast – This periodic event, sponsored by the Presbyterian Men of Christ Presbyterian Church, needs volunteers to set up and clean up tables, cook, and serve the meals.

   Funeral Care - This group helps families following the death of a family member. Participants usher for funerals and organize receptions and luncheons following funerals.

   Hospitality - Greet visitors and guests and offer to sit with them in worship and show them to the Fellowship Hall following the service to enjoy fellowship and snacks.

   New Member Shepherd -Team up with new members to shepherd them through their first year of membership and help them become involved with the many activities at our church.

   Prayer Chain - Participate in offering intercessory prayer for members and friends of the church and others who request it.

   Visitation Teams - This is a wonderful opportunity to stay in touch with homebound or ill members of our congregation. Two-person visitation teams make visits on a monthly or as-needed basis. Training will be provided.

WORSHIP & MUSIC:

   Advent Candle Lighter – Once a year, participate in the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service by lighting a candle of the Advent Wreath.

   Children's Worship Bags - Make sure the bags containing the Children's Bulletin, lectionary puzzles, and drawing materials are stocked and in good shape for our younger worshipers to use during worship services.

   Children's Worship Buddy - Sit with a child during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service and assist him or her in understanding and participating in the service.

   Choir Singer, Sanctuary Choir – This adult choir leads in worship each Sunday of the year. The time commitment includes weekly 2-hour rehearsals, weekly Sunday morning rehearsals, singing with the choir at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service, and singing special Advent and Easter music at Sunday services. Prior musical training is helpful, but not required.

   Youth Choir Assistant - Non-musical help is needed at each rehearsal. Duties include helping with registration, robe assignments, occasional refreshments, and assistance on days the choir participates in worship.

   Instrumentalist – Soloist, accompanist, and other opportunities are available on Sunday mornings and at special services and events throughout the year. The time commitment varies depending on the music being performed.

   Sanctuary Flowers – Supply floral arrangements and/or place flowers in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings and/or deliver flowers after services to our homebound members and neighbors.

   Sound Board Operator – Volunteers work the sound board during 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service. Training is provided.

   Tape Ministry – Volunteers duplicate audiotapes of worship services and mail or deliver them to our homebound members and neighbors.

   Homebound Communion – Assist in distributing the Lord's Supper to our homebound members and friends. We need 2 elders (active or inactive) to make each visit, and others may accompany them and help represent the congregation.
